Secure, High-Performance Mainframe Data Integration Solutions

If your IT environment includes z/OS, z/Linux, or both, Informatica’s mainframe solutions offer flexible, scalable data transformation and data access capabilities designed specifically for your needs.

Data Transformation
Informatica PowerCenter is available on multiple operating systems, enabling you to locate your data integration environment on your mainframe, on commodity servers, or both.

PowerCenter for z/Linux
Have you chosen z/Linux to lower software licensing and IT operations costs through server consolidation? Or are you hoping to lower MIPS-based costs and possibly defer upgrading your z/OS environment by transferring some workloads from z/OS to z/Linux? Whatever your z/Linux strategy may be, PowerCenter for z/Linux was created to support you.

CPU-intensive data transformations run at full speed in z/Linux, and PowerCenter on z/Linux provides complete access to the entire range of sources and targets supported by PowerExchange, no matter where data resides. Data located in z/OS can be accessed via Hipersockets (the mainframe's virtualized network technology) so it never leaves the safety and security of the mainframe environment.

PowerCenter for Linux, UNIX, or Windows
If you’re not ready to host PowerCenter on z/Linux, you can locate PowerCenter on Linux, UNIX, or Windows and still gain full access to the mainframe data you need, whether it’s on z/OS or z/Linux. Your data is secure even though it leaves the mainframe environment because PowerExchange adheres to all access controls established by SAF and the data source, and PowerCenter supports encrypted communication to further enhance security.

Mainframe-Based Data Access
Data access is the foundation of any data integration environment. Informatica PowerExchange is the secure, high-performance data access foundation of the Informatica platform. PowerExchange offers flexibility in mainframe data access and integration no matter where PowerCenter is hosted.

PowerExchange for z/OS and z/Linux
PowerExchange enables PowerCenter, running in any supported environment, to access data in files, relational databases, and pre-relational databases located on z/OS or z/Linux—without needing queuing or staging tables. This direct data access typically saves development time, reduces MIPS on z/OS, and is more secure than creating extract files and transferring them away from the mainframe. PowerCenter can also use PowerExchange for WebSphere MQ to integrate with z/OS and z/Linux, for EAI-style integration schemes.

PowerExchange Change Data Capture Option
The PowerExchange Change Data Capture Option can lower your MIPS usage and help to manage costs. Captured data can be sent to PowerCenter running on z/Linux or any other supported PowerCenter environment.
