Intelligent Data Management Cloud’s (IDMC) Spring 2025 release adds key functionalities to simplify data and AI governance, enabling customers to demonstrate business value confidently.
Chief data officers (CDOs) and data leaders are considering doubling down on unlocking this value with increased investment. 87% of data leaders who adopted or plan to adopt GenAI expect increased investment from their organizations in 2025.1
However, a recent survey of 600 CDOs reveals that 97% of data leaders using or planning to use GenAI have difficulty demonstrating business value. They highlight concerns over privacy compliance, responsible AI, reliability of results and data quality issues as some of the top barriers.2

Informatica’s Spring 2025 release advances the capabilities of IDMC customers to overcome these challenges. The ability to discover and manage data and AI assets, control access, ensure high-quality and safe use, and drive accurate and responsible outcomes are within reach.
Spiraling Complexity in Data Management
To further complicate the issues, multiple production data sources continue to exist across on-premises and cloud ecosystems, each with its own disparate tools. In 2025, 51% of organizations indicated they needed more than 10 separate tools to support their data management priorities.3
Analytics and AI teams want to leverage data that exists in silos spread across the organization or even from third parties to generate deep, comprehensive insights. However, standardizing data management processes across heterogeneous and often non-compatible systems is complex.
But does it have to be so complicated? The answer is no.
Simplifying the Governance Experience for the AI Era
Informatica’s Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) enables customers to accelerate business outcomes by simplifying their approach to data and AI governance into four steps: Inventory, Control, Deliver and Observe.
1. Inventory
The first step is to take stock of your data. Informatica provides the most exhaustive set of scanners and metadata enrichment to help customers quickly discover and understand the data in their environment and enrich it with business context.
2. Control
This step involves putting metadata management to work. With Informatica, customers can automate the identification and protection of sensitive or personal information and enforce applicable governance policies to help ensure data use is safe and compliant.
3. Deliver
The third step is making high-quality, trusted data available to the organization. IDMC allows users to identify and resolve potential data quality issues easily. With a dedicated Cloud Data Marketplace (a service of IDMC), customers can provide a place for their data and AI model consumers to search, discover and procure data products in collaboration with data owners and stewards.
4. Observe
This final step focuses on driving continuous improvement of data and AI governance performance and efficacy. Our data observability tools enable users to monitor data and AI pipelines and results continuously, evaluating opportunities to address data governance gaps proactively.

IDMC enables all these steps through a single platform embedded with CLAIRE's AI capabilities, such as CLAIRE Copilot and CLAIRE GPT, to deliver simplified yet powerful data governance experiences.
Elevate Data Governance with IDMC’s Spring 2025 Features
With Informatica’s Spring 2025 release, we continue to introduce features to simplify data and AI governance with AI-powered data governance.
Some of the key data and AI governance features added as part of the Spring 2025 release include:
CLAIRE-Generated Glossary Descriptions
Glossaries provide everyone in your company with a common vocabulary to describe their data assets. As part of their curation work, data stewards associate glossaries with data assets and create a description for each item, so everyone understands that asset. Writing these descriptions manually takes significant time and effort. As a result, descriptions are often left blank, leading to gaps in understanding. Adding descriptions for your assets manually may also result in inconsistencies and a lack of standardization. Now, CLAIRE-generated glossary descriptions can transform how data stewards add context to data assets.
Using CLAIRE to generate asset descriptions saves your data stewards significant time and effort. The ability to use AI to provide comprehensive descriptions for more and more assets can help you to quickly improve your company’s overall data literacy and accelerate onboarding.
Benefits:
- Saves your data stewards the time and effort required to manually write and edit descriptions for business glossaries
- Enhances your documentation quality and aids in boosting governance and compliance readiness with consistent and comprehensive descriptions
- Improves the understanding of your data assets, fostering better collaboration and more informed decision-making
Cloud Data Access Management Integration with Cloud Data Governance and Catalog
With the integration of Cloud Data Access Management (CDAM) and Cloud Data Governance and Catalog (CDGC) as services of IDMC, you can realize your vision of a connected data management strategy. By bringing together CDAM with CDGC, Informatica provides you with an integrated, frictionless experience to govern your data and manage data access controls. Users can now administer data access policies to control access to data using the new data access management page in CDGC.
You can also leverage CDGC's metadata intelligence and extend the application of data access policies across multiple channels with more precision and control. It strengthens policy management and helps ensure data integrity, security and compliance are not compromised as your data is utilized across the organization.
Benefits:
- Improves the efficacy and effectiveness of your policy management by seamlessly aligning governance processes with data access controls
- Enhances the scale, consistency and adaptability of policy enforcement across multiple channels
- Streamlines your policy management and improves ease of use by reducing the need to toggle between systems
Automated Address Verification with Cloud Data Quality
With Cloud Data Quality’s verifier assets now available in an Informatica Processing Unit (IPU)-based consumption model, customers can automate the validation of their address data. Using CDQ’s verifier transformations, your organization can determine the accuracy of the input addresses, fix errors in the addresses and enhance the addresses where possible with additional information.
This functionality enables you to fix errors and complete partial address records, format the output address data to meet the requirements and add geocoordinates to verified addresses.
Benefits:
- Enrich your verified addresses with geocodes to increase the chance of successful delivery and help postal services find destination mailboxes easily
- Leverage enrichments provided by the verifier to improve the understanding and quality of your address data
- Comply with the latest certification standards of format and quality expected by national postal carriers
Data Access Policy Pushdown for Power BI
Reduce the risks and friction in policy creation, management and enforcement across systems by deploying data access controls directly within Microsoft Power BI using CDGC. Simplify your operations and make it easier for your data teams to scale secure access for analytics and BI use cases by orchestrating native controls with CDAM's policy pushdown capability.
The ability to automatically enforce consistent data access policies within Power BI helps your organization reduce the complexity and administrative burden of managing compliance while allowing Power BI users to analyze data and derive insights confidently.
Benefits:
- Reduce your risks of data misuse and unauthorized data access with consistent enforcement of data access policies
- Enable faster access to data for your Power BI users without increasing risk exposure or compromising control of data
- Reduce the friction, complexity and manual efforts of enforcing data access policies across your different platforms
Other Notable Feature Additions
- Extended support for custom data quality dimensions to scorecards to better align data quality metrics to customer context and requirements

- Customizable layouts for cloud data marketplace pages, helping to deliver a simpler experience for light-touch users.
Data and AI Governance Made Easy
AI-focused innovations, such as those included above, can help customers accelerate trusted data and achieve reliable AI results. An American pharmaceutical company is establishing a foundation to inventory, control, deliver and observe data and AI to accelerate clinical trials.
They automatically scan data across multiple systems and data lakes, cleansing and enriching it before returning it to the lake. The data is then governed throughout its lifecycle, with lineage tracked across Tableau, S3 and other data applications. IDMC enables them to take an integrated approach to govern Reference 360 and data dictionaries, along with a data catalog and master data management (MDM), while democratizing data access across R&D and manufacturing with greater transparency. They are also harnessing the power of CLAIRE GPT by supporting business users with a ChatGPT interface to automate data quality rules for trusted insights.
